Philippe Huneman is Research Director at the Institut d'Histoire et de Philosophie des Sciences et des Techniques (CNRS) at the Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne. He mainly works on the philosophy of evolutionary biology and ecology. He is the author of Why? The philosophy behind the question (Stanford University Press, 2023). Passages from his essay appear in different form in Death: Perspectives from the Philosophy of Biology (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023)
